Patriotism in Charleston rivals that of any other place in the nation. The city is full of rich American culture and tradition, so it is only fitting that the city hosts some of the best July 4th events in the country. You can venture into the waters to find yourself in the ideal firework viewing spot, or you can keep your feet on land while listening to some live music as the fireworks blast in the sky. There are plenty of options to celebrate our great country across the area; it is just a matter of choosing one. In order to help you out, we have created a list to guide you to the best July 4th events in Charleston!
4th of July Blast at Patriots Point
Sail away on the USS Yorktown and enjoy the live music, food and drinks offered on board. Here you will have the best seat in the house for the Fourth of July Fireworks Blast from Patriots Point Links. The VIP ticket includes complimentary drinks, a barbecue meal, and live music. General admission offers access to the food and drinks, but you must pay. If you do not want to pay at all, you can set up a lawn chair at Patriots Point to see the show. Whichever route you take, this firework show is arguably the best in the Charleston area, so it is a definite must.
4th of July Charleston Harbor Cruise
Cruise down to St. Johns Yacht Harbor to get front row seats to the Patriots Point firework show while jetting around the Charleston Harbor. The boat will take you on a loop through the waters as you picnic on deck with any food or drinks you bring. This is the perfect opportunity to situate yourself up and close to the show for a stress-relieving, pure fun evening.
North Charleston 4th of July Festival
Head on over to North Charleston for their 4th of July festival on the riverfront. Across the North Charleston River Front Park, there will be live music, activities for the kids, food trucks, craft vendors and the Lowcountry’s largest 4th of July fireworks show. All of these classic July 4th events come free of charge, so who could turn this event down?
Isle of Palms July 4th Fireworks
The Fourth may be the perfect time to take a trip down to the beach, especially if there are fireworks involved. The city of the Isle of Palms is offering just that. At 9 pm, fireworks will shoot into the sky as you sit back in the sand and just take in the beautiful view.
Celebrate July 4th with the Kaminski Museum
Enjoy live music from Indigo Choral Society, a boat parade and the city’s firework extravaganza from the Kaminski House Museum this July 4. The event is the perfect family affair with the beautiful sound of the chorus and the beautiful backdrop of the museum. This is all around a classic way to spend Independence Day.
Jam out to the live music staged at Mount Pleasant Pier. The Mount Pleasant Pier is situated at the base of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, creating an incredibly picturesque backdrop for the concert. At the end of the night, you will find yourself in the perfect place to watch the Patriots Point Fireblast, so this event has practically all you could ask for and more!
Red, White, and Bluegrass Cruise
The BlueStone Ramblers are tightening up their strings in preparation for this event. Take a 2-hour cruise around the Charleston Harbor while sipping on some drinks from the cash bar and listening to the sweet sounds of bluegrass. The cruise is exclusively 21+, so it is the perfect occasion for those who want a night away with no worries or stress. The boat will be out and about of course for the big firework show, so it is the perfect place to be when the sun sets.
Swim on over to the South Carolina Aquarium for a night full of tasty snacks, beer, and wine. This event is perfect for families as the tickets are open for the adults, offering drinks but also for kids who are surrounded by the fascinating creatures of the sea. All of this happens right next to the water, offering the perfect place to see the fireworks shoot above the water.
